Is it just me, or does Sunday evening after Christmas and New Year hit differently? That feeling as the festive lights dim, the fridge empties of the leftover indulgent food and tomorrow’s inbox glares back like an unwelcome guest. London’s winter is already cold enough without adding Monday blues to the mix.
My skin knows the drill too: post-holiday dehydration – Champaign and other types of alcohol do not help! – turns a bit dry. But I’ve got my “Quiet Luxury” wind-down ritual planned for tonight, and these lovely products make the transition feel like a treat, not a chore.
The Sunday Sanctuary Stack
Light up the Cire Trudon Candle first: that belly-warming amber and honey scent fills the house, and feels like a hug. It signals “switch off” to my brain before anything touches my face. I love my little Gabriel candle, but I also have a few others from Cire Trudon. They are just beautiful.
Something nice and aromatic in the warm bath to take the tension from my body. I love Elemis Skin Nourishing Bath Milk & Aching Muscle Super Soak, it is perfect for my aching muscles and it gives a relaxing spa treatment right at home.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Calm Cleanser to sweep away the day gently (no stripping). I love to occasionally use my gua sha with this cleanser to massage my face, reduce puffiness, promote collagen and soften fine lines.
Then follow by Sisley Paris Black Rose Mask next while I’m relaxing in the bath: creamy rose magic that plumps and comforts in 10-15 minutes. Post-festive skin will drink it up like it’s been parched for weeks.
And then Sunday Riley Luna Night Oil will seal it all with calming, glow-reviving power. Earthy, soothing, pure sensory bliss.
Beauty like this isn’t just skincare; it’s emotional armour for the week ahead. Wake up plush, radiant, ready(ish) for anything.
